Basic Obedience

Basic obedience training focuses on teaching and positively reinforcing a variety of basic commands including:

  • Sit

  • Stay

  • Down

  • Come

  • Focus

  • Off

  • Leave it

Another primary focus of basic obedience is loose leash walking, during which your dog walks in a relaxed and natural manner without pulling or jerking. Dogs will also learn how to politely greet guests at the door during basic obedience.

Advanced Obedience

Advanced obedience includes:

  • Off leash recall

  • Sit, stay, down with multiple distractions present

  • Distance commands

  • Following commands in owner's absence

  • Performing difficult tasks such as picking up keys, turning on and off lights, opening and closing doors

Behavior Modification

It's no secret that dogs can get away with mischief with a pair of sad eyes or a wag of a tail. However, our furry friends can sometimes wreak havoc on our homes, limit where we can walk with them, or create issues with neighbors. There is a wide range of behavior modifications and we address them all with force free training methods that are backed by behavioral science. Some examples of behaviors to change include:

  • Jumping

  • Pulling

  • Counter surfing

  • Incessant barking

  • Separation anxiety

  • Aggression

  • Reactivity

Canine Good Citizen Preparation

  • Accepting a friendly stranger

  • Sitting politely for petting

  • Appearance and calmness for grooming

  • Walking in a pattern

  • Walking through a crowd

  • 20-foot sit and down stays

  • Coming when called

  • Reaction to another dog

  • Reaction to distraction

  • Supervised separation for three or more minutes
